IMPROVISATION in DANCE PRACTICE
weekly class BERLIN
Through working with various tools from the fields of dance, choreography, physical theater, improvisation, and somatic techniques, this course offers an opportunity to embark on a deep journey of embodied self-expression—whether as a solo, in contact with others, or through instant composition within the group. The playful exploration of physicality, movement, voice, objects, time, and space becomes a source for developing embodied awareness, creativity, and communication, encompassing adaptability, decision-making processes, trust in improvisation, and much more.
This course creates space for spontaneous surprises and discoveries, guided by the unfolding of improvisational and compositional play among all participants, integrating both physical and imaginative elements, as well as emerging reflections and questions. Every moment and space is just as it should be, and each of us possesses a unique quality of expression. This course provides a framework where everything that is sensed, felt, and encountered can become potential material to explore—ultimately serving as a source for "becoming" something new.
